First Sports Post Ever.

Ok i saw @detsportsnation say on twitter that there looking for sports blogs. Ive been wanting to throw my hat into some sports writing this week. So why not try live blogging the pistons vs warriors game tonight. So this is me attempting sports writing.

Quick back story

I grew up watching the teal and maroon pistons. The Jerry Stackouse pistons. Then they became the most awesome RICK CARISLE pistons. The pistons made of Jon Barry, Chucky Atkins, Ciff Robinson, and Danny Manning. I remember when the pistons were the top east team for what seemed like forever. Then Ben Wallace, Chauncy Billups, Richard Hamilton, and Tayshaun Prince showed up. And sadly Resheed Wallace was added. Larry Brown played Tayshaun Prince more minutes then there is in a game. Then they tried using Flip Saunders. Then other random coaches and here we are with Kuester. That's my Detroit pistons history.

Pre-Game

Pistons in Focus is talking about how the Larry Brown and Rick Carisle defensive teams made the NBA change the rules to help the offense. This has always been a big deal for me. Ever since the Manu Ginobili flops of hell. The year Dwyane Wade won a championship shooting free throws. Ive always hated how offensive contact equals free throws.

I believe this all goes back to the Pistons Spurs finals from 2005. That series was decided by home games. In Detroit the refs let the pistons play there defense. And in San Antonio the refs made more calls for the spurs and the Ginobili flops. To me this is one of the worst game changing moments in the NBA of all time.

Side Notes Before Game

Rodney Stuckey

In case you haven't noticed Rodney Stuckey is leading the pistons in points and assists with 16.6 PPG and 5.9 APG. I believe Stuckey this year is more of a true point guard then he has ever been before. I like how Kuester is leading the team and i like how Stuckey is leading the team but they do butt heads alot. Stuckey is a great true point guard though. I feel like there battle is like one between a coach and his quarterback. Hopefully they can bring it together early and use there leadership to an advantage.

Here is a quote from Big Ben and how he feels about winning and losing.

Ben Wallace: "winning is a cure all"

Ben Wallace against the Kings the other night woke up a little. Early on Samuel Dalembert just was plain taller then Ben Wallace. I think Ben Wallace felt personally offended by that and he played like the Big Ben of old. Big Ben rebounded, he messed with Demarcus Cousins and made his foul troubles even worse. Big Ben even got important blocks in the 4th quarter. When Tyreke Evans drove the lane late in the 4th the old Ben Wallace rose up and sent his "cute" layup into the stands. If this in Big Ben's last year its good that its going to end on a strong note for him.

This is one last issue i want to get into before the Pistons game starts.

Austin Daye

I myself interned this summer in the middle of nowhere. But the tv had NBAtv and i caught about a million summer league games. I caught as many pistons summer league games as possible so i saw alot of Austin Daye. Austin Daye looked like a fantastic 2. He played off the wing like any top guard in the league. I know Daye is 6'11 but he has great ball control for his height and great shooting form.

Daye is really skinny. Like stick skinny. The problem is that Kuester is playing Daye out of the 4 spot. i know Jonas Jerebko is hurt and were hurting at the 4 spot but we shouldn't waste a talent like Daye in this role. To me Daye should only be playing out of the 2 and 3 spots and never the 4. I think were losing Daye's talents down under the hoop.

What the Pistons need to win

~Stop Monta Ellis and Stephen Curry
~Get the rebounds
~Stop the warriors fastbreak
~Share the ball on offense
~Share the ball on offense

First Quarter

Pistons starting lineup

PG~Rodney Stuckey
SG~Richard Hamilton
SF~TayShaun Prince
PF~Austin Daye
C~Ben Wallace

The warriors win the tip. And miss there first shot to give it to the pistons. And the pistons score off a tip in then Monta Ellis goes on the fastbreak for the score.

I must admit trying to live blog the pistons during a warriors run and gun game was not the brightest idea.

Tayshaun Prince with the first 6 points for the pistons.

Tayshaun is starting really strong tonight. Started scoring with a tip in off his own miss then hitting two jumpers.

A little announcement here. If your going to vote for the pistons player of the game. Please watch the game before you vote.

Score is currently tied 6-6 with 2 minutes into the game.

Now tied 8-8 after 3 minutes after a nasy jumper from Monta Ellis over Austin Daye.

Monta Ellis with 6 straight points. All jumpers over defense.

score is 10-12 with the warriors leading. 7:40 left in the 1st quarter with a commercial break.

I think i need to stop going into such detail about whats happening but Monta Ellis is hitting beautiful jumpers over the defense. I hate it.

Daye has scored 4 in a row to tie the score at 12-12

I believe both teams are running 2-3 zones defensively right now. score is 14-14

Tayshaun has 8 of are 16 points right now. score tied at 16-16

Austin Daye has 9 straight 3s in this part of the season. I believe FSD said the record for most 3s made in a row is 13.

After warriors free throws the score is 19-18 with 5 minutes left in the quarter.

I have a random question. When did Dan Patrick get on Fox Sports?

Monta Ellis is having an unstoppable game right now. They need to stop him. Daye with a long 2. 21-20 3 minutes left.

Will Bynum just got some minutes and they weren't very pretty at all.

Monta Ellis cant be stopped and he has 16 of the warriors 22 points.

Ben Wallace is working hard but he needs to stop putting his head down. And there was a very poor loose ball foul called on him too.

Rip has hit the bench and now Ben Gordon is into the game. Score is 21-27 with 1:30 left in 1st quarter.

21-30 and Monta Ellis has 19. The crowd is starting to get loud for the warriors.

The refs are calling alot of touchy fouls on the pistons right now.

21-34 at the end of the 1st. Monta Ellis with 21 points. Warriors have the pistons out of there game right now. Pistons need to stop trying to run with the warriors and slow down the game.

Second Quarter

If your watching a bad announcer crew for a sporting event i advise you hit mute and enjoy the game. Though the pistons announcers aren't bad. There just introducing the new owners of the warriors so i hit mute because i honestly don't care about the warriors.

21-40 and the refs just called another touch foul.

The problem here is that the warriors are crashing the boards hard and then breaking out on the fastbreak at the same time.

The warriors have closed down the lane on defense.

Tayshaun Prince was a good 5 feet from Stephen Curry when he went up for a layup but Tayshaun still called for the foul. 21-42

this must be the refs from the 2005 pistons vs spurs finals.

Tayshaun shoved down on a post move and foul called.

Prince is fouled on an attempted lay in then the warriors home crowd exploded about how bad the call was. Prince misses first free throw.

22-42 after Tayshaun Prince makes 1 of 2 free throws.

22-45 after a Monta Ellis 3 pointer.

I am now using my theory of watching the game on mute. When im in a sports mode i prefer to watch any kind of sport on mute. It really helps me understand the game better.

The warriors are running a simple 2-3 zone with hardcore traps against anyone near or going toward the lane. Its really killing the pistons offense. It really opesn the 3 up but the pistons have yet to notice that.

Tayshaun is trying to will the pistons back into the game on his own. So far its not working. It really hurts you when you miss all your layup attempts. Times like this really make me wish i had Kuester on speed dial or a red phone next to my chair so i could yell at Kuester.

And the warriors force another touchy foul. Its like watching a team of ginobilis and paul pierces play. score 24-49 if your still watching i aplaud you.

Charlie Villanueva straight punched in the mouth as he goes for the layup. Just a normal foul. These refs are awesome.

I think when a player like Monta Ellis goes off for this many points you need to punch him in ribs as he shoots so he gets scared.

29-54 after a warriors alley oop.

I dont know about this game but at least the pistons have expeirence fighting from behind. There not giving up anytime soon.

Timeout by the pistons about a million minutes too late.

Monta Ellis on the bench, best chance for the pistons to fight back into this game before halftime.

Looks like more words have been exchanged in the ongoing Prince Kuester argument. Right now with the way kuester is coaching i have to side with the players. Kuester is doing a horrible job tonight. Not giving the team a fair chance at winning.

Flagrant 1 foul was called on Charlie Villanueva after an upset pull on the warriors players arm as he shot. score 33-60 this is an obvious a** kicking.

Pistons are now down 37-65 i will not stop watching. I got to finish my attempt at getting on @detsportsnation.

40-65 after Austin Daye going full court for the assist to Rip for a 3. Austin Daye needs to be put at the 3 spot right now 42-65.

43-65 going into halftime. There is a chance. Don't give up.

Halftime

ok ill admit the 1st half was horrible. Words cannot sum up how bad the pistons played. Ihis is all i can say till the 3rd quarter.

Third Quarter

Over/Under on Tayshaun Prince being traded or ductaped to the benchs for the next week?

Love the shot of Tayshaun Prince complaining during the halftime shoot around. Also thank you fellow fans for voting for Tayshaun Prince for player of the game so far. It means alot to vote that well.

43-65 30 seconds into the 2nd half.

The pistons are now trying to force as many touch fouls as the warriors did in the first half. If it gets them back in the game its worth it. The warriors deserve the touch foul treatment. Score 45-67.

CRASH THE BOARDS! Please stop watching the warriors all close in on a rebound as you run away... 47-70

Stuckey draws another foul on the drive and you can see him mouth the word "shit" afterwards. 48-70

And another foul on the warriors. At this pace there won't be enough players to put on the court.

Austin Daye with his 10th straight 3 this year. 51-72

55-75 after stuckey fails to draw the offensive foul. Warriors on the turnover right after though and give the ball right back.

What happened to rip's free throw shooting? Did he take classes taught by Ben Wallace during the offseason? 57-75

Monta Ellis driving baseline on two defenders for the easy layin then a alley oop to Prince for the big dunk. 59-77

Seriously there has been a ton of fouls on the warriors in the 3rd quarter. How do they still have players left to play? 63-81

Ben Wallace on his trademark baseline reverse layup 65-83

The pistons need to put it within at least 15 before the 4th. There is about 3 minutes left in the 3rd quarter.

Hard defensive poccesion, then fastbreak and stuckey overshoots a pass to daye in the corner.

Fastbreak with 4 seconds left leads to a shooting foul against Daye as he gets blocked on a layup attempt with .3 seconds left. And of course he misses the first freethrow. 69-87 going into the 4th quarter.

Fourth Quarter

Radmonimnotspellingthis sits on Will Bynum and no call is made, pistons get ball back and Bynum attacks hoop again and gets call 2nd time around. 71-87 after Bynum makes both freethrows.

Charlie Villanueva hits a pullup jumper to make it 73-87. Warriors right back 73-89

Ben Gordon on another crazy 3 to make it 76-89 Pistons right back in this almost.

Charlie V on the fastbreak to make it 78-89 and Golden State call a timeout.

I feel like the pistons need the jaws theme in the background with the way there hunting the warriors right now.

Pistons fighgt back within 11 adn the warriors hit a highly contested 3 to make it 79-92....

Ben Gordon draws foul and makes both freethrows. Monta Ellis now with 5 fouls to go with his zillion points. 80-92

82-92 after Gordon jumper

Charlie Villanueva playing in the post like he might die if they lose this game. Is amazing to watch. 82-94

84-94 with 7 minutes left in the game.

86-94 off a 2nd straight turnover by the warriors.

The Millionth touch foul called on Bynum tonight. Rebound pistons ball.

Pistons fought back then the refs kindly handed the warriors the game on a silver platter. Even Michael Vick couldn't win this game. 86-98

Charlie Villanueva with an angry 3 to make it 89-98

Foul on the layup attempt by Monroe, inbound pass coming -.-

Charlie V with another angry 3 to make it 92-98

Stuckey on drive to make it 94-98

Foul against Monroe as he went to dunk. Freethrows coming. Misses 1st! Misses 2nd but they get rebound.

96-98 with seconds left in the game.

Jump Ball!!! stuckey forces a jumpball with Curry

TV clock is broken so i cant see how much time is left in game...

Stuckey should 2 hand this jump ball

Re-jump on the jumpball after warriors got it first time.

Pistons attack loose ball and call timeout!!!

5 seconds left 96-99 pistons ball. Last attempt at tying game was lost on a turnover. Lets hope Kuester draws up a better play this time around.

charlie V misses important freethrow down 4 with 2 seconds we lose....

well best time to start the article about the game....

P.S Refs blew the game so bad that they made a $250 and stern won't slap them around too much when they get back to the crib.
